Tom led the bowling attack with a sharp opening spell, claiming two wickets and setting the tone. Oscar followed up with one of his own, reducing the visitors to 39-3 and putting Clifton firmly in control. Young Luke Jones then made his mark in the field with a smart run out, before Jordy, Dan, and Lewis each chipped in with a wicket to leave the visitors struggling at 113-7.
With the pressure mounting, Luke Jones returned to the attack and struck twice in quick succession, finishing with two well-deserved wickets. Despite a couple of late partnerships that steadied the visitors' innings, Clifton kept things tight and restricted them to 183-9 from their allotted overs, setting a target of 190.
Unfortunately, just as Clifton looked to chase down the total, the ever-predictable British weather intervened. Rain brought a premature end to the match, and no further play was possible.
While the result was washed out, Clifton’s unbeaten run remains intact. Having already secured the league title, the squad can take pride in their consistency and will be looking to carry that momentum into the next season.
